How It Works

How an SFCC Online Course Works

Every online course is self-paced distance education delivered in our student portal. You can start the moment you enroll and work at your own speed on any device.

Sequential chapters

Chapters unlock in order. Each chapter delivers the full approved instructional content for its allocated classroom hours and ends with a knowledge check that gives you immediate feedback. You move to the next chapter when the current one is complete.

The final examination is gated

The end-of-course examination does not unlock until every chapter and knowledge check in the course is complete. That gate is a Commission requirement, not a preference.

Access period

Online enrollments include lifetime portal access — your course never expires, and re-enrollment after an unsuccessful examination is free. You never pay twice for the same course. (Examination attempt limits are set by Commission rule and apply regardless of access length.)

What you need

A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox and a working internet connection. The portal is mobile-responsive and installable as an app. No special software, plug-ins, or downloads are required.

Identity

How We Verify Who You Are

Florida requires distance-education providers to verify and document student identity at three points. Here is exactly what we do at each one.

At enrollment

You provide your full legal name and date of birth. If you already hold a Florida real estate license, you also provide your license number, which we cross-reference against Department records. (Pre-license students don't have a license number yet — name and date of birth are used.)

During the course

Every session requires logging in with your own unique credentials. Lesson access and completion activity is logged with timestamps against your account.

At completion

The final examination requires the same credentialed login, and immediately before the exam begins you must affirmatively acknowledge the certification statement prescribed by the Commission:

“I, [Student Full Name], certify that I personally completed all assignments and have not duplicated any portion of the end of course examination.”

Declining prevents access to the examination. Your acknowledgment is logged with a timestamp and retained in your student record.

We do not require a webcam, screen recording, browser lockdown, or biometric scanning for any SFCC course.

Final Examination

Examination Rules by Course

The same format applies to every course: one question at a time, no going back, no hints, no retries within an attempt, and a server-side timer that keeps running if your connection drops. The exam auto-submits when time expires.

System Status

If Something Goes Wrong

Your progress is saved on our servers, not on your device. An interruption doesn't cost you your work.

Current status: all systems operational. This section is the school's published status page. If we are aware of a disruption affecting students, it is posted here.

Interruptions during a lesson

Progress is preserved server-side. When you reconnect, you resume from the last saved point — nothing is lost and nothing has to be repeated.

Interruptions during the examination

If your connection drops, the timer continues to run and you resume the same attempt with the time remaining. If a school-side service interruption occurs, we pause the timer server-side and you resume the same attempt on the same examination form with your remaining time, and the interruption is logged.

Extended outages

If an outage exceeds one hour, we email every enrolled student. Telephone support is available during posted business hours throughout. The portal runs on commercial cloud infrastructure with vendor-maintained redundancy and backups.

After You Finish

Certificates, Reporting & Records

Your certificate

When you pass the final examination we issue a course completion certificate conforming to Rule 61J2-3.015, F.A.C., emailed to you as a PDF. The original is yours; the school retains a copy.

Reporting to the state

We report your completion to the Department electronically within the deadlines set by Section 455.2178, Florida Statutes. You do not need to send anything to the state yourself.

Record retention

Your progress records, assessment results, identity-verification records, examination records, and certification log are retained for five years after course completion.

Refunds

Full refund within 7 days of enrollment if you have not completed more than 30% of the course. Past that point we don't refund — but your enrollment doesn't expire and re-enrollment is always free.
