Who is eligible to become a Florida Real Estate Broker?

You must:

  • Hold an active Sales Associate license for at least 24 months within the last 5 years
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Hold a valid U.S. Social Security number

What is the 72-Hour Broker Pre-License Course?

It’s a FREC-required course that teaches real estate law, finance, investments, and broker-level skills. It prepares you to take the Florida Broker Licensing Exam.

What’s the difference between the online and in-person course?

Both meet the 72-hour state requirement:

  • Online: Self-paced, mobile-friendly, flexible
  • In-Person: Instructor-led classroom sessions in Miami, live interaction

How long do I have to complete the online course?

You’ll have 6 months of access to complete the course and final exam. In-person students follow a set schedule.

Is there an exam at the end?

Yes. The course includes a final exam with a passing score of 70% required. You’ll receive a completion certificate needed to apply for the state exam.

What’s next after completing the course?

You’ll schedule your Florida Broker License Exam through Pearson VUE. Upon passing, you can apply for your broker license with the DBPR.
